The New Bottom Line campaign is continuing its 10-city effort to target banks that are destroying communities through foreclosure and not paying their fair share in taxes. The campaign\'s latest action was a peaceful sit-in at Fannie Mae in Los Angeles, where more than 100 people gathered and 9 individuals were arrested. Among those arrested were Rose Gudiel, who\'s reportedly facing eviction from Fannie Mae and One West, as well as Gudiel\'s disabled mother and seven other supporters.
You can watch video of the action here:
The next New Bottom Line action will be a big one, this time in Chicago, on Monday the 10th. The campaign says it expects 7,500 people to participate in the march. Visit the New Bottom Line website for more information.
Update: New Bottom Line and ReFund California just announced that they\'re organizing a 12:00 march in LA today "to protest Wall Street banks for destroying jobs and neighborhoods with their greedy, reckless and predatory business practices." At the march, Gudiel is supposed to "[make] a statement regarding a phone call she received from Fannie Mae."
